Owning Your 'Stuff'

Another talk from Merlin Mann. Owning your stuff, making yourself scarce, building a productive culture around yourself.

Monty Python Channel on YouTube

Finally got around to posting this. Yes, YouTube has an official Monty Python channel

Cracked 150!

I weighed in under 150lbs for the second day in a row. I look and feel a lot leaner and stronger. This Crossfit thing is working out well. It also helps that I’m eating better. Not as well as when I was hard-core on the Zone, but paying more attention to carb/fat/protein ratios and opting for healthier options.

Well, That Didn't Last Long

Well, that didn’t last long. All it really took was one work meeting. “Great work, but what about all these other related problems?” I know my work wasn’t done, but can I just enjoy the moment for a second? Yes, I realize there is a LOT of work to do, and I know we are behind on most (okay, all) of it, but we need to take a little time to enjoy our accomplishments, no matter how small. Otherwise work becomes a grind-it-out, soul-crushing experience.

Ever Have One of These Days?

Ever have one of those mornings where you don’t wake up tired, actually have some energy, and are looking forward to the day? It happens less often than I like, but today was one of those days. I woke up feeling pretty great. I had made some progress on a tough problem at work yesterday, had a great tough workout last night, and weighed in at just over 150 lbs this morning. I had a quick breakfast, made my lunch and coffee, and made my way into work with Nirvana’s Nevermind playing at inspiration levels. (Yes, that album makes it into the rotation every now and then, as does GNR’s Appetite for Destruction).

It’s going to be a good day.
